Matt has been cast in the feature film ‘Sellouts’. He will be playing Mr Wimple – the slightly creepy headmaster of a private boys’ school and a director of the board of the Australian Theatre Company.
‘Sellouts’ is a brutal black comedy that tears open the worlds of Gen-Y targeted advertising, Gen-Y targeted entertainment, and the Gen-Y targets themselves. It is the feature film debut of writer/director Nikos Andronicos, who was senior writer on Channel 10’s the Ronnie Johns Half-Hour at 23, writer/co-director of MTV USA’s Psychotown [produced by Mike ‘Beavis & Butthead’ Judge] at 26, and now onto his first feature at 29.
Produced by Backseat Rebel and experienced low-budget feature producer Tania Frampton, ‘Sellouts’ will be principally filmed around inner Sydney over 20 days in Jan/Feb 2011. The cast will feature some of Australia’s most talented up-and-comers including Andrea Demetriades, Andrew Johnston, James McFay, as well as notorious comedians Sam Simmons and Heath “Chopper” Franklin. ‘Sellouts’ was cast by Kathy Luu.
